I think the gray instead of the orange brings out the blues and yellows.  Since I don't have a truly neutral neutral.

Next time I am going to go with the colors that Bonnie uses, it solves the problem of making decisions.  Which is what the fun of the mystery is to me.  This year I just did have enough of a stash to truly make a scrappy quilt.  So that brings in the problem of fewer pattern choices, so I want to control the colors more.
